Line Dancing Is Exercise in Disguise
Line dancing is more than just fun — it’s a fantastic low-impact exercise that keeps your body moving, your mind sharp, and your spirits high. It combines cardio, balance, coordination, and muscle engagement in a way that feels more like a social event than a workout.
Each routine uses rhythmic steps, directional changes, and sequences that strengthen the legs, hips, and core while improving flexibility and endurance. Because the movements are repetitive and can be modified for all abilities, line dancing is suitable for all ages and fitness levels — Including beginners and active seniors.
But it’s not just about physical health — it’s great for the brain and emotional well-being too. Memorizing patterns and syncing movements to music helps with memory, focus, and cognitive agility, while the social connection and upbeat atmosphere reduce stress and lift your mood.
Many participants say they “exercise without even realizing it” — because they’re too busy having fun, laughing with friends, and enjoying the music.
Whether your goal is fitness, fun, or friendship, line dancing offers it all. It’s a joyful way to stay active, energized, and connected — one step at a time.
Rowdy Outlaws Line Dance Classes
All ages and all levels are welcome! Whether you’ve never danced a step or have been kicking up your heels for years, there’s a place for you on the dance floor. Each class is led by Rhonda Laws, a passionate and experienced instructor who creates a fun, supportive atmosphere where everyone feels confident and included.
Rhonda teaches a variety of Absolute Beginner, Beginner, and Improver dances, reading the room to ensure every dancer learns at their own pace while having a great time. You’ll enjoy upbeat country and modern music, easy-to-follow choreography, and a chance to stay active while connecting with others who love to dance.
The Rowdy Outlaws aren’t just about steps and songs — they’re a true community. Dancers often join in for special events, socials, and local performances across Grey and Bruce Counties. Every class ends with smiles, laughter, and a few new moves to take home.
Kick up your heels, make new friends, and dance your cares away — the Rowdy Outlaws are waiting for you!
No partner? No problem!
Come alone or bring a friend —
there’s a line dance family waiting for you.

I’m excited to share that two new daytime line dancing classes are now being offered at Heritage Place Mall, conveniently located beside TELUS.

"AKA - Sanity Hour"
Every Monday & Wednesday
10:00 am to 10:45 am
This class is designed especially for parents & caregivers who are looking for a welcoming space to move, connect, and enjoy time with other adults.
Babies are welcome to attend with their caregiver. Little ones may sleep, relax in a carrier, or simply be present, while caregivers enjoy gentle movement, easy choreography, and adult social time. The focus of this class is on caregiver wellness, connection, and having fun — not performance or perfection.
No dance experience is required.
Come as you are, move at your own pace, and know you’re in a supportive, judgement-free environment where caregivers can enjoy movement and conversation while still keeping baby close.
Low Impact Line Dance Class
Every Monday & Wednesday
11:00 am to 11:45 am
This class is ideal for adults looking for a low-impact, beginner-friendly way to stay active and social. Movements are gentle, routines are easy to follow, and the focus is on feeling good rather than keeping up.
Both daytime classes are:
Beginner friendly
Low impact

“If you are even thinking about joining a line dance class, Rhonda's is ‘THE ONE to join’. Not only is she welcoming and patient with newbies, she reads the room and knows when to let her more advanced dancers let loose with a faster, more complicated dance. Her timing is perfect, and her cueing of dance moves spot on. AND her music ROCKS!!!”
— Jane A.
“It was a pleasure to be welcomed as a guest when visiting my girlfriend in Meaford. I line dance with a group in Welland now, I had a great time learning the line dance Rhonda taught last week — ‘Thriller,’ appropriately for Halloween time! Lots of fun along with other various levels of dance numbers as the evening progressed. Everyone was very welcoming, and I was impressed to see such a great turnout at your Monday group class.” — Linda Stokes

“A very welcoming environment for those new to line dancing and something for every level. Can't wait to keep coming back, to keep improving and to keep having fun.” — Annika P
“Four years ago, when I started with Rhonda, I had very little to zero experience in Line Dancing. Now, I probably have 80 or more dances under my belt. With gentle guidance, repetition and coming out consistently, you can do it too! Rhonda has fostered a line dancing community — one that encourages beginners, challenges advanced dancers, and creates camaraderie and new friendships.
The community has grown to include showcasing at local fall fairs, supporting fundraising events (Stomp the Bruce, Prance, the Witches Dance @ Harrison Park, to name a few). In addition, there is regular open dancing at the Sauble Dunes Restaurant, shopping trips, other dancing excursions, and my favorite: our occasional theme‑night dress‑ups, Halloween and Christmas celebrations, and group potlucks!” — Christina M.
“I am a senior citizen and have recently joined Rhonda's Line Dancing class. Although I have been introduced to Line Dancing by two other instructors, I am truly enjoying learning with Rhonda Laws. She ALWAYS reviews the steps to a dance before putting the music on. If some parts are difficult, Rhonda offers alternative steps which are easier. There is never any criticism or insistence on doing the dance perfectly. Rhonda just wants participants to enjoy what they are doing and to enjoy being challenged.” — Marilyn R.
